IMAX movies are my reward… these short films are truly works of art, passion and they exist to teach and show the world what’s going on 10,000 meters under the sea, or 100,000 kilometers into space… they make you discover how to coordinated 140 countries to rescue Haitians, only days after the earthquake… or explain why a shrimp can live 5,000 meters deep, beside a toxic undersea volcanos,…
I have been lucky enough to work on many Imax movies, many of them because of Stephen Low, an IMAX film director who is the definition of “passionate movie making”. Here’s an exerpt from the Stephem Low Company’s website that explains what is needed to have the IMAX passion;
“Director Stephen Low is one of the most experienced filmmakers in the large format medium, bringing to his work a unique storytelling vision and an understanding of the language, limitations and tremendous possibilities of giant screen 2D and 3D cinema. Stephen Low never tackles the simple subjects. In working to push the visual and storytelling potential of the large format, Stephen has turned out more than fifteen remarkable giant screen audience experiences…”
Here are some of the shots we designed for Stephen’s wonderful films… and other films like “Coral Reef Adventure” from another great IMAX director, Greg MacGillivray, from MacGillivray Freeman Films, another world renown IMAX film director/producer.
